PoE Budget Planning for 16-Channel CCTV Systems

Avoid under-powered switches when mixing domes, bullets, and PTZ cameras.

Calculate total PoE draw

List every camera model and its PoE class (af/at/bt). Domes typically draw 6–12 W; motorized varifocal bullets may need 15–20 W. Multiply by channel count and add 20% headroom for switch selection.

Cabling standards
